On Feminism

Opening pandora's box. Some people may find it offensive.

How can feminism be achieved when women take advantage of their sexuality to have their way when it suits them? Women are to some extent responsible for objectifying themselves. Sounds harsh? Sounds chauvinistic? I know. Hear me out.

IMO, a lot of women want the best of both worlds. They want to enjoy the benefits afforded by feminism while still subscribing to the traditional evolutionary paradigm.

Women want to feel pretty. It is an evolutionary drive. However, being easy on the eyes (elegance) and sexy are two entirely different things.

Freedom in women's clothing warrants a discussion. I will analyze this problem from an evolutionary perspective. Sex is a very powerful force. Very difficult to control all the time.  Plus the societal constructs especially in the east make it a forbidden pleasure.

Humans, especially men, are biologically programmed to be aroused by females. It is not something one can control completely. Men will always be distracted by a women's sex appeal. They can't resist a beautiful smile, the bodacious qualities, and anything that suggests that the woman is interested in the man. This is a hard fact, a double edged sword. Women often use it to get their way. In a sexually repressed culture, if women are free to wear what they want, the problems are amplified. May be because he has not had enough exposure to this force before(It is possible that he may have overdeveloped urges or lack of control or subconsciously believes that he should seed more women).

There are two ways to deal with this problem. Either the society should undergo some kind of  desexualization through healthy exploration of this powerful force or play a balancing act. If you look at the animal kingdom, most of them are polyamorous. Healthy exploration seems difficult to achieve because while the jocks will probably get the desired exploration, the others will be left with their dicks hanging. Another factor is the women's use of sex as a means of getting the man to settle down with her. I think this is no longer necessary on part of women because women are becoming independent and do not have to depend on men for their survival.

The other is to strike a balance. In places such as work where distractions can be detrimental to the cause or women can take advantage of the biological programming, one needs to strike a balance between freedom and  sensibility. In other places such as during recreation or general activities, women should be free to wear what they want. I suppose men have to get used to it. It will be good in the overall run.

I think women want attention. But not unwarranted attention.

If you boil down things, you will find that there is a lot of hypocrisy in society's standards. If you follow evolutionary logic, a lot of hypocrisy can be eliminated. Evolution and neuroscience should be understood in more detail by everyone. This will probably help in eliminating a lot of conficts in this world.
