Why does evil exist?

Blaise Pascal was spot on. Problems arise because humans can't tolerate boredom. Life is boring without things like politics, bitching, gossiping. But what if you have risen above such things? By risen,I mean you have seen the futility.

Most people have traditional/ animal circuits. Driven mostly by hardware. The hardware is tuned to maximize survival. They enjoy things like games of society. Politics is the game of society. Very few people see the big picture of life. They can't see the forest for the trees.

The struggle alone pleases us, not the victory. I think Pascal had different circuits to some extent.
