On Existential Depression
One aspect is realizing the loop. I think people who only enjoy the chase are more likely to suffer from existential depression. When you chase something, you feel the fun while chasing. But as soon as the chase is over, the depression gets around. Over a period of time, you realize that the whole process is an endless loop. It is just a repetitive triggering of pleasure and pain circuits. Once you see the big picture, the existential depression becomes severe. The final realization is that we are all Sisyphus. I am definitely Sisyphus.
Just being is realizing that we are all Sisyphus.
