On Teaching

1. Big picture should be introduced and how the individual concepts fit in. 2. A new concept should be built on an earlier concept. I will soon start online courses. I will mainly focus on finance. It is easier.

On Creativity

Do you really need to go through a lot of videos telling you how to write a book? Is it innate? Is it learnable? Is it a combination of both?

On Survival

I have a bit of nihilistic perspective on life. We are trying to survive life. We are trying to enjoy life. We are trying to embrace life, understand life and what not. We keep trying. Can there be life without suffering? What makes life worth living? Life isn't beautiful because it lasts.

On Art and Science

The romance of art is slowly fading away. Science is taking the art out of many things. Everything is being quantified.  I was never the romantic type. But now I feel some sort of pull. It is comforting.

On Cryptic Discourses

Many spiritual masters resort to cryptic discourses and messages. How does it benefit anyone? Shouldn't things be simplified? Buddhas messages and sayings were not cryptic. I wish others also followed the same.

On Originality

Originality is lacking. It is depressing. We need to think more. We should feel free to express ourselves. Our answers should not be restricted to he said this, he said that. Why confine yourself to something that was said 100 years ago? Hasnt society undergone tremendous change? We know more things.

On Being Alone

The mundaneness of the world makes me sick. I would rather be alone than live in this world surrounded by customs and people which dont make any sense to me.

On Philosophy

There is a certain joy in reading philosophy. I generally do not get visual art. But I love reading good prose. It is heartwarming. It is comforting. It is soothing. The melancholy strikes a chord with troubled souls . It talks to you without judging you. It is a reflection of every unexplored abscess of your heart. It unshackles you, unburdens you. It makes you light. It is the best friend for a troubled soul. It makes you think. It makes you wonder. It so ruthlessly yet so elegantly details the struggles of human existence. Oh!The joy I feel when the perfect words combine to create a symphony and capture something in my heart. But perhaps it is only for the troubled soul, the meek souls, souls in need of comfort. The strong ones perhaps dont need it. But can everyone be strong?

On Writing

The girl on quora has ignited the dormant spark. I have found my inspiration. The elegance was refreshing. So simple yet so expressive. It felt so natural and effortless. She was not trying to showoff. The words just fell in the perfect place. It was like a beautifully orchestrated symphony. Thank you quora and thank you girl. Most of the writing I encounter is so tired, so cliched. There is no beauty. A word inserted here or there. The banality makes it a painful read.

On Definitions

Definition takes out the art and makes it a science. We want more art.

On Broken Heart

How does one capture the vulnerabity of a broken heart? The anguish which cannot be described but only felt. When tears are held back lest they not become more ammunition for mocking in the hands of madmen. How does one begin to describe the agony of the heart which has not known love but only sorrow? Oh misery, why have you become my inseparable friend? The indelible imprint you leave on my heart and soul will torment me forever.  I pity the loveless. I partake no joy in being different. It is just who I am. It is not a conscious choice. I have no sense of belonging. If only someone truly felt what I feel. Not just at the surface but feel my whole being. What would it feel like to have every atom of my being reverberate in perfect sync with someone? Alas, I have not been fortunate enough to have known love. Sometimes, in my darkest moments, I give  myself the luxury of hope. I fancy that a beautiful smile will mend my broken heart. A warm gaze will melt away all my pains....

On Being Different

Do we act differently to seek attention? Or is it our naivete? Is it because we are not wise to the ways of the world? Is it our hubris which refuses to accept the brutal nature of this unforgiving life?  Do we mellow down with time? Hasn't society benefitted immensely from people who were different? Why this discrimination? Why the stigma?  Why do we restrain and punish people who think and act differently? Why are we so intolerant? Do different people impinge on our sense of aesthetics and threaten our long standing customs? Do they annoy us because they refuse to conform? Why should anyone have any liberty when we dont have any? Is life really a train track with miles of detour on derailing? Why does every generation thinks it is wiser than the next and intelligent than the previous generation? Different people should be ready to face the consequences. Dont expect a bed of roses. Society will not accept you and will try to bring you down. You have to become mntally ...

On Wind and the Sun

I would like to share a story. The sun and the wind got into an argument. How to prove who is better? They saw a man walking with a jacket. They decide that the one who forces the jacket off will be the winner. Fair enough. The wind gives it the first go. It blows, the man clasps. It blows harder, the man clasps harder. This goes on for a while. Finally the wind gives up. It is the sun's turn. It spreads its warmth. The man takes off his jacket. Morale of the story?..Who can take a leaf from this book?

On Forgiveness

This poem captures the essence of forgiveness. I hope it doesnt infringe on any copyright.

On Dignity

What good is money if you have been stripped of your dignity at every juncture of your life? What good can money do if every ounce of your being has been trounced and degraded? Can money heal you? Can it bring back your lost dignity? These are not rhetorical questions I ask. I ask these to the self appointed moral guardians of society. Why have I been singled out when millions go scott free? I have reduced to handouts from friends and family in the name of justice. Do you really call it justice?

On Identity

It is a pretty good poem. I hope I am not infringing on any copyright.

A Poem

I am going to write a poem.

On Escapism

IMO, escapism is moving away from a problem by immersing oneself in another activity. The reasons could be genuine or superficial depending on the viewer. IMO, the doer at some level believes that he is not indulging in escapism. To another person it might seem the opposite. It can happen because of different worldviews.

On Feel Good

Ultimately things boil down to feeling good. If you can make somebody feel good, you can win them over. Advertisers appeal to this very factor. A lot of people exploit it for personal gains. This is a basic aspect of human nature.  There are certain tricks to making yourself and others feel good.

On Self-Esteem

On Pride

On Ego

On Sex

On Drinking

On Friends

On Respect

Hardwiring.

On Tourism

We travel for fun, relaxation, interests, a break from drudgery of our daily life, spending time together, bonding, adventure, bragging, forced vacation etc. How much of it is herd mentality? How much of it is real?

Wakeup Call

21st November. The problems caused during my climb has highlighted the need for urgent action. I am going to stop smoking and become more mobile in general. Living alone is challenging if you are not healthy. I have decided to maintain basic health. Cutting out smoking. Focusing on moderate exercises and muscle  building .

On Introverts

IMO, there can be varying levels of extroversion or introversion i.e. they are not black and white. The differences may lie in response to stimulus, interests, value system, skills, sensitivity, activity levels, past experiences, insecurities, worldview, and some other neurobiological wiring issues. All or some of the factors can be at play at the same time. IMO, it is not a mental illness. In my case, I simply do not have the physical and mental energy to keep up with this world. I want a relaxed and easy life. I dont need much. Basics will do. A small fund for future perhaps.  5k per month for current living expenses and 5k per month for future savings will do. I still cant get over all the covert bullying. It hurts.

On Socializing

Humans are vain and egoistic. They do not want to be taken advantage of.

On Freedom

Freedom is ones right to live their life their way  provided they dont break any legal, ethical, and moral code. One can play fast and loose with the code to a certain extent but not defy it. Slavery is the opposite of freedom. Throughout our lives, we go about exchanging one form of slavery with another.  A vicious cycle of slavery is perpetuated at our birth. From the moment we are born, we are slaves to necessities and desires. Slavery to expectations follows and then slavery to society. The root cause of slavery is fulfilling necessities and desires. If we reduce our necessities and desires or enjoy doing what we do to fulfill our desires and necessities, we wont have to succumb to slavery. Freedom is not free. Ironical, huh. However, the price paid by everyone is different. For someone, boredom in exchange for freedom from social constraints might be a very high price to pay. Not for me. Someone may exchange mental stress for materialism; for me mental stress is a ...

On Society

Society is a manifestation of collective survival mechanism. Society fulfills our necessities and desires. To a non-thinker, perhaps there is nothing beyond society. As with most of the wordly things, the society gives and the society takes.

On Capitalism

Capitalism is not a problem. Everyone has the right to earn whatever they can by ethical, legal, and moral means. The problem is with unchecked greed. It can cause one to bend, twist, or exploit nature and people. Capitalism provides a lot of scope for proliferation of unchecked greed. The problem becomes one of human nature.

On Boredom

Boredom is a significant force driving human behaviour. Each one of us has a different way of dealing with boredom. What causes boredom? Are we hardwired to engage in some sort of activity? Do we constantly want to experience something new? How does boredom compare against our need for safety and security? How does boredom map to neurobiological circuits?

On Marriage

I dont want comfort and support. I am not afraid of loneliness. I dont want love and understanding. I dont want order in my house. I dont care about feelings. I am not worried about someone taking care of me when I am ill. I want freedom. I want a lot of alone time. I want to pursue many hobbies. I want a stress free life. Should I marry?

For Singles

I am thinking of starting a site for single people. It is not a dating site. I want to address the taboo associated with being single. Being single doesnt mean that your dick doesnt work or you dont have cash. I will also include fun resources for single people. Independent thinking should not only be allowed, it should be promoted. We should not be bogged down by conventions and predefined social constructs. Society has undergone a paradigm shift. It is time for the singles to get their due.

Waking Life

It is a good movie. Introduces good point of views. I will download some good philosophy books from amazon. I would like your opinion on the following: 1. Is the difference between common man and philosophers like Socrates and Nietzsche very  big? 2. Fear or laziness, what is more universal quality? 3. Are accumulative tendencies a result of fear or laziness?

On Technology

I think technology has proven to be a double edged sword. People should stop being slaves to technology. Technology has certainly been an enabler for the evolution of mankind.

Life Deconstructed

Maslov's hierarchy of needs sums up the meaning of life to a great extent. However, IMO, it barely scratches the surface and does not do a root cause analysis (no criticism intended). In this post, I will do a root cause analysis of the different factors driving the hierarchy of needs. I will talk about evolution in general and also consider the meaning of life from a metaphysical perspective. At the heart of human existence lies a very fundamental force; survival instinct. Most of human behaviour can be traced back to this fundamental force. Over a period of time, this force has given rise to various pleasure and pain circuits. From a evolutionary perspective, the brain can be divded into reptilian, primate, and other brain. Engaged nonduality is embracing life without any attachement. This is the best way to practice just being. This is the essence of life.

On Materialism

Materialism is chasing after material desires . IMO, materialism should be pursued for fun and comfort and not for satisfying ego. Your state of mind matters the most. What can be categorized as materislism?

On Love

Is love limited to a series of biochemical reactions? Is there something more fundamental to love? How much role do understanding, empathy, dedication, support, and hard work play in forging the bond of love? How different is the love between mother and child, man and woman, siblings, friends etc. Can we quantify love? How much of it can be explained biologically?

On Dreams and Passions

What makes us chase dreams and passions? Is it to express ourselves? Are we wired a certain way? Is it to stand out? Is it to earn money and fame? Is it chasing happiness? Is it an escape?

On Freedom

The Behavior Series

This is 18th November. I will discuss various aspects of human behavior. It is a modern take on human behavior. I will do a root cause analysis and map the behavior to neurobiological circuits.

Engaged Nonduality

Engaged non duality is embracing life without any attachement. This is the best way to practice just being. This is the essence of life.

On Euthanasia

Happiness Deconstructed

Our bodies have pleasure and pain circuits. Probably everything can be explained from a neurobiological perspective. IMO, happiness can be summed up as: 1. Activating pleasure circuits 2. Avoiding pain circuits 3. Just being 4. Minimizing cognitive dissonance. If you keep activating pleasure curcuits on a regular basis, they will get desensitized or cause other physical problems. Therefore, regulation becomes important. Just being avoids triggering the various circuits. How do you trigger some and avoid some circuits? Behaviour etc. can play an important role in the whole process. Life is not suffering. You can be happy. IMO, once we have done sufficient brain mapping, we will be able to minimize suffering using brain devices. No need for drugs, alcohol, and meditation. We will even be able to rewire our brains. Involuntary suffering will be eradicated to a great extent. The future doesnt seem far.

My Future

Best position for me with my existing skills is to work as a freelancer in data analytics and automation (using python, excel, access, sql, SAS ). Financial domain is the best choice. I will gradually transition to digital marketing(chatbot, analytics, automation). Small scale websites and mobile apps can be made on demand or for personal purposes. No active pursuit. Philosohy and writing can be pursued as hobby. Orchard work can also be pursued as a hobby. All conditional on all forms of manipulation and hacking stopping. Otherwise resorting to begging is my only option .  There is no point in working on a model farm. Too much interaction with unnecessary people. Living in an orchard is the best staying arrangement for me. I definitely do not want to live with my soul sucking family . I need to reconcile my bank account. Something is definitely amiss there. Some parts of the code being hacked is no reflection on me. Why should I bother if the thing works?

Brain Computer Interface

This field looks quite interesting. I will focus on neuro prosthetics and other types of brain computer interfaces. Neuro prosthetics can help solve the mind and brain problem. Lets say there are two entities. Brain and mind. The mind is the abstract part. In case of neuroprosthetics, either the mind thinks of moving the body part and then lights up the brain area somehow or the signal originates in the brain itself.

Best Jobs in the World

Compiling a list of the best jobs i n the world 1. Masterchef judges: They get paid for eating delicious food(sometimes crappy food). 2..

Physics for Atheists, Creationsts etc.

I will try to explain concepts relevant to such discussions. The objective is to find common ground for a more productive discussion Spacetime Time Dilation A moving clock moves slowly. Dark Matter Dark Energy Quantum Entanglement Quantum Fluctuations Quantum Brain

A Scientific Examination of Spiritual Practices

I examine various spirutual practices from a scientific point of view. Kundalini yoga: Seems like getting your nervous systems in perfect sync. The orgiastic state experienced by practioners sounds very much like sex. The chakras sound like mini brains. Vipassana: Cravings and aversion sound like neuroplasticity issue. IMO, Buddha was the first neuroscientist. Meditation and yoga : Nervous system manipulation Chanting: Vibrations etc. affecting nervous system. People probably figured out mantras similar to how scientists figured out science. Saints can be considered scientists. Prayer: Psychological aspects More and more I have started to feel that this whole enlightenment thing is not worth it. There may be something but the probabilty seems very low. There does seem to be collective consciousness but perhaps this can also be scientifically explained.  In conclusion, just being is the simplest way of living a good life and avoiding suffering. Engage in hedonism in good time...

A Comparison of Atheism and Theism

The more I read, the more fascinated I become. Theism: Pros 1. Why does something exist? 2. There are signs of intelligent design Theism: Cons 1. Why life only on earth (maybe there is somewhere else also)? Why other planets and all other aspects of universe created? Why evolution and so much time taken for human beings creation? Maybe initial conditions were being setup for human existence. Timelessness etc. can come into play here.  2. A lot of arguments against intelligent design 3 . Not much evidence. All hearsay. All religions different. 4. A lot of it can be explained by psychological factors Atheism:Pro 1. Could be a random simulation or created out of nothing 2. Has proof of a lot of things Atheism:Cons 1. Cant explain all aspects of universe 2. Cant explain mind control and other associated phenomena happening to me When will we solve this debate? Probably a futile topic but if proved conclusively, it can change our way of living. A middle ground could be th...

On Pain

Emotional pain involves the same brain regions as physical pain, suggesting the two are inextricably connected. Should emotional pain punishment be put on same level as physical pain punishment? The difference being that physical pain is more or less objective whereas mental pain can be subjective (at least to the doer. If we can measure pain levels using some instrument then emotional pain can also be considered objective).

The Mind

Perhaps one of the most complex questions. Can neuroscience completely explain mind i.e. I or ego? Are brain and mind the same? Can the delay in propogation of signals solve some cryptic answers given by spiritual masters and a lot of other shit ? Could enlightenment be some sort of fancy delusion? Enlightenment etc. is probably the only hope for people who are clinging on to their miserable existence. If everything could be explained by science, I guess there will be no reason for a lot of people to live. The psychological and social consequences of a mechanistic view of humans could be profound. Who knows what kind of chaos will such views unleash?

Karma and Neurobiology

After studying a bit of neurobiology, past lives and concepts of soul seem irrelevant. Karma etc. also seem irrelevant. I am not saying that it is not possible (the probability is quite low), it seems irrelevant. One of the things that bothers me is the lack of significant leaps in spirituality and religion. Why does god not reveal himself anymore? Why did he only choose to appear thousands of years earlier? I am kind of losing faith in religion and ancient philosophies. I find most of the theories of karma absurd. Probably everything can be explained at the neurobiological level. What if a person becomes bad due to physical neurobiological damage? Should bad deeds accrue to his karma? Are the majority of people deluding themselves? Reconciliation is such a herculean task.

Satellite TV installation

Download some qsat app and find the specifics of the satellite corresponding to the one in your setup box. Then do the positioning. Not tough if you have experience.
