On Being Different

Do we act differently to seek attention? Or is it our naivete? Is it because we are not wise to the ways of the world? Is it our hubris which refuses to accept the brutal nature of this unforgiving life?  Do we mellow down with time?

Hasn't society benefitted immensely from people who were different? Why this discrimination? Why the stigma?  Why do we restrain and punish people who think and act differently? Why are we so intolerant? Do different people impinge on our sense of aesthetics and threaten our long standing customs? Do they annoy us because they refuse to conform? Why should anyone have any liberty when we dont have any?

Is life really a train track with miles of detour on derailing? Why does every generation thinks it is wiser than the next and intelligent than the previous generation?

Different people should be ready to face the consequences. Dont expect a bed of roses. Society will not accept you and will try to bring you down. You have to become mntally tough.
