Desert Business

The sun is so much that you can do a lot of things there. 

Buy vast swathes of inhabitable deserts. It will be available for very low prices. Use my methods to make it habitable. The sun is plenty. 

Water can be pumped from sea and desalinated. Cost effective techniques have been developed. There is so much almost free solar power in deserts. 

Vertical farming uses very little water so that is not going to be a big concern. 

Solar panels to be used as roofs and energy source. This will help some in keeping things cool as a lot of the sunlight will be absorbed or reflected. Rest insulation and some air conditioning. 

Total cyclical economy as usual. 

But why will anyone want to live there? Makes exploration of things such as oil much cheaper. Also effectively manage solar power plants.  If there are small sustainable villages setup in someplaces, then such things can be much easily managed. Overtime they can be turned into more greener pastures with organic material grown in vertical farms or some other tricks. Need to explore more about converting deserts.
