Civil War

Civil War is old vs new. Iron Man is new. 

Captain America is old guard. I guess UK and Europe are more of old guard. Conservatives. America is mainly Iron man I guess. Women are old guard. 

Hacking is part of civil war. I have become a casualty of civil war. Collateral damage.

Where do I stand on it? Modern stuff is going to be dominated by tech giants. I guess with modern stuff, you have to either do a job or be very advanced to compete with the giants. 

If you look at the bigger picture, the value creation by modern stuff will outshine everything. But you have to get lucky. It is not a sure thing. It could be winner takes a whole lot more if not all. It is all centralized. One company (or few big companies) can do it all. Too risky. Small guys stand a small chance. You can definitely build upon the tech giants to do custom stuff and do good business. Eg. A chatbot. You can use any dialogue management software of a tech giant to customize it for your client. And the value add is not insignificant. An alternative would be to build one based on open source frameworks. But a lot more work is required. The frameworks are very matured, so it is not too difficult nowadays. I would have stuck to it if there was no hacking. 

A lot of old stuff will definitely go out. But there is still a lot of room for value creation in the old stuff. Real fun is mixing the two. Leveraging the best of both worlds.
